A pair of Great Crested Flycatchers nested in a cavity in our gray birch this spring. A storm blew the upper 2 ft of the hollow trunk over, and it hung by a sliver of bark. The nest cavity however, remained safe, in the trunk and the pair raised and fledged at least one chick; possibly two. This gallery presents a short photo essay on the pair.
I've also included some photos of the Gray Catbird pair that nested in our yard as well, though I was not able to get photos, or see fledglings.
