While visiting the Horticulture Farm at Rock Springs on 2/8/2018 a flock of Horned Larks flew over the head house and landed a few yards away near some dead pigweed plants. I approached the birds in my car on the farm road and used the vehicle as a blind to get these images. The birds moved quickly, and were able to walk over the snow as it had an icy crust. I hear Horned Larks at the farm year 'round, but rarely have any time to get a close up look. All images were made using RAW files taken with an Olympus OM-D EM-1 Mark II camera fitted with an Olympus 40-150mm f2.8 Pro lens and a 1.4x tele-extender (420 mm effective).
