4/29 - It's Back

Home, Sideyard

Several years ago, my former neighbor cut too much off the honeysuckle growing on the trellis outside
my kitchen window and it "died". Now, the trellis is on our side of the property line but the plant
was seriously bulging to his side making it hard to mow and seriously shading his grass so I was too
upset. Besides, I was not thrilled with the honeysuckle anyway. I did some repair work on the trellis
and the planted Carolina Jasmin on either end which has done well. However, the honeysuckle was
apparently not done with us and this spring, out of the blue, I have blooms again. I am amazed.

Like bamboo and mint, honeysuckle will not be denied. Least it is a grand lure for butterflies and hummingbirds which will delight Miss Ainsley and isn't that the most important thing anyway? Yes, I think so... :-)
