It was 6:20am, an exciting moment to be on hole #1. I was waiting for "first light" to break through the cloud cover above the distant mountain range, and for it to light-up the land in front of me. With camera in-hand and with my back to the sunrise, I eagerly waited for the show to begin...
The mornings are when you will find the most beautiful light atop this mountain course. The light is warmish, but then just for a moment, thereafter it's pure bluish-white light. The air is cool and fresh, and the breeze is strong but intermittent, as can be expected at this altitude. The fragrant aroma of morning grass, dripping with dew from the night past, is as refreshing a welcome as there can ever be.
The Tagaytay Highlands International Golf Club is an 18-hole course built around mountainous terrain. It is about 1.5 hours south of Metro Manila.
