Southern Flying Squirrel

Sorry about the quality of the shot, but this was taken (handheld) in almost total darkness (small outdoor deck light).
This has to be the quickest critter I've ever seen. He'd hop into the feeder, grab some feed and back to the tree in about 2 seconds.

Your capture is good enough for me. My attempts never succeded when I lived in New England.
Of all the different squirrel species, these are reported to make the best pets (if one be so inclined).

You have just become the regular old night owl, haven't you? heh heh Didn't know that we had those boogers around here. By the size of the eyes, they must be noctirnal?
