This picture was taken the morning of September 11, 2001.
I had arrived in Holland on business a few days ahead of my colleagues. Attempting to stay awake, I went out for a short walk and took this photo.
When I returned to the hotel the television in the lobby was showing pictures of the first tower burning. Needless to say I was glued to the television for the next 12 hours.
If you look in the convex mirror you will see the photographer standing alone in the background. This photo reminds me of what an eerily lonely feeling it is to be stranded far from my family.
