This place is located at the juncture of Highway 62 and Carlsbad Cavern Dr. I'm not sure anyone actually lives there unless in back of some of the stores or motels that are on both sides of the street and run for about half a city block. It's also about 25 miles south west of Carlsbad. I was here in the early 70's and the place hasn't changed much. Starting about five miles before town there are signs advertizing their goodies and one said, "Largest Supply Of Kodak Film and Flash Bulbs in 50 Miles." Since I haven't seen a flash bulb in about 20 years I couldn't pass that up. But when I went into the store and asked for some they seemed puzzeled at what I was refering to. When I explained they had a sign out on the road advertizing them I wanted to buy some. Then they started looking, not knowing what they were looking for. Finally the sales clerk admitted he had no clue as to what I was interested in and so I explained what a flashbulb was. He then got the manager who admitted they no longer carried them and he appologized for the sign.
