After completing the "Tangerine Dream" I needed another project.
On October 28, 2016 I purchased a 1947 Piper PA-12 Super Cruiser.
It was literally a real basket case.
It came to my shop as a rusted and dirty mess that to a lot of people would have looked hopeless.
Over the next 3 1/2 years I completed an extensive "rehab" of this aircraft, finishing in August of 2021. That same month it flew again for the first time in 44 years.
It has been extensively modified for back country flying.
This PA-12 is not the ultimate Bush Plane, but it is a very capable aircraft that I hope to have a lot of fun with.
Here you will see the project from start to finish, and some images of the finished airplane in it's natural environment.
I affectionately call it "Frank".
It is a true Frankenstein.
It is a collection of old and new parts put together and brought back to life.
