I love rugs like this. I have one similar to this, that a friend of mine made. She grew up on an native American reservation, and has made these her entire life. She moved out and got married, so she no longer lives on the reservation, but she is still very talented. I was at her house, and I commented on how much I liked her rug. The next year for my birthday, she made me one just like it!
