An over-excited horse rears as two young men try to restrain it. On the left, figure 26 is seen in mid-run with his left foot raised off the ground. He extends a hand towards the next of the animal, presumably to grab at a rein or headstall. Such features as reins were added separately to the frieze as metal attachments. Occasionally drill-holes can be seen where these were fixed. Figure 27 lurches to the right and raises a hand to the muzzle of the horse.
