1802 cast of the West Frieze of the Parthenon block XII

Three figures stand around a horse. On the right, a boy, figure 24, appears to be holding the horse by a long rein or halter. The horse itself shows off its unusually long mane by stretching its neck down to nuzzle the inside of its left foreleg. To the left stands figure 22, a young man shown at three-quarters to the viewer, naked but for a cloak pinned at the neck. He appears to bind his left hand with something held in the right. At the centre of the picture an impressive figure stands draped in tunic and cloak. His left hand holds a baton, which is perhaps a badge of some office. The right arm is raised to signal an instruction.
