Hi Sharon, you know how much I like this photograph, I think I've told you at least a 1/2 dozen times! :-) Just Beautiful! The lighting, the atmosphere and the tiny dot of RED from the traffic signal, puts you right into the scene.

What atmosphere in this windswept winter scene! It communicates the feelings of elemental power, desolation and loneliness. The even color palette of subtle browns and grays enhances that mood. Note too the overlapping layers of light and shadow in the snow. But maybe what makes this image so special is that it's different: the weather conditions are so raw. The snow is overrunning the tracks. The positioning of the photographer looking down on the tracks, placing the tracks in the middle of the frame, leads the viewer's eye towards infinity. All these elements combine to give this image its remote feel. A true portfolio image!
