As we left the farm, he was heading toward the hen house to check it out.
The farmers were delighted to have him, and gave us a dozen farm fresh eggs when we were leaving. They are a lovely family with a beautiful farm.

There was nothing sadder than to hear him crow in the morning and then listen in vain for an answer. I felt so bad, I had started crowing back, and Red and I would have these Crowfests in the morning. Listening to him crowing in the chicken yard with a few dozen hens clucking about was music to my ears.
