The twin coastal cities of Sekondi and Takoradi were hosts to the toughest group of CAN 2008, including Cote d'Ivoire, Nigeria, and Mali. We drove there in Kofi's SUV and picked up tickets from a friend of his who was helping the Nigerian team--fans were camped outside the hotel, hoping to catch a brief glimpse of their heroes. To pass the time on the 4 hour drive we free-style rapped about brian's proficiency at billiards (he had held a clinic until 3 am the night before, beating ghanaian men and wooing their ladies).
The stadium in Sekondi was built especially for the CAN games, and is really a beautiful venue. The best match that we saw in the tournament was Nigeria and Mali's 0-0 draw.
