Hopukani Springs near the top of Pohakuloa Gulch, at 10,450 feet elevation on the South slope of Mauna Kea. This is the cluster of conifers planted at Hopukani Springs, at the top of Serpentine Trail. The springs are tapped for the water supply at Pohakuloa. There is a fence surrounding the conifers, and the pipeline can be seen running down the hill below. Photo taken before starting down transect 107 during the 2008 Mauna Kea palila survey.
