Phyllostegia Vestita

Upper Waiakea Forest Reserve

This unfortunate specimen was growing in the middle of a footpath, and had been trampled at least once so that it was sprawling along the ground. It's the only example I've ever seen. The leaves are large - up to 3-4 inches across. I'm guessing it's phyllostegia vestita, but I don't have access to photos of all the phyllostegia species.
