Dolphin Head Nebula

This object, also known as Sharpless 308 and Lynds Bright Nebula 1052,
is located in the constellation Canis Major, and is about 4500 lights
years from earth. The glowing bubbles of ionized oxygen (green-blue)
and hydrogen (red) are being expelled by a massive and energetic
star near the center of this object during a brief pre-supernova phase.
