Here and there the maples are turning, first to a yellow orange tinged with pink and then, hopefully, a bright red before a sudden wind or freeze takes them. It froze in the park over the past two nights which will speed up the change or maybe make them fall. They were not hard freezes and we shall see later today how they fared.
