Tobacco

When we bought our home in the valley nine years ago there were many tobacco fields here. When we moved here permanently seven years ago there were still several to be found. As the old timers pass on the fields disappear and now only three or four remain. As more and more homes are built, the tobacco fields and the cattle farms pass into memory.

Beautiful light in this shot, well done.

Excellent composition and detail. You haven't lived till you've cut tobacco - hot, sticky, and miserable. Tobacco used to be the big cash crop around here. Corn was for cattle, tobacco bought the extras. :) v

Very effective composition and use of backlighting.

And perhaps sooner someday.. they're all gone and can only be seen from your photos Buz.. :o) That happens because of the growing population and demands of homes... You've got the great compo in this photo that you got the best lighting.. :o) My vote! :o)

I love the lighting. I am not really too sad to see the "baccor" gone. I am sad to see the building of houses going on up your beautiful mountains.

Nice light thru these giant leaves. Very nice shot.

I always think the plants, leaves and fields look so beautiful. Of course we are seeing the same reduction in fields here in KY.--Rene
