The wonder of this piece is hard to comprehend. The controlled layering of the glass by Doug Whalen when it is hot, so that Nathan can work his brilliance into the piece through carving is just magnificent. To me it looks like alien technology from another world. It is only through sheer discipline that I am able to put this piece up for sale, however, I am content to keep it forever, ha. The detail is just so precise and stunning, and the resultant unearthed color so pleasing to the senses. It is tactile in hand, so nice to spin around and feel, art that is just begging to be held and touched and spun. Brilliant work from one of the greatest glass cold-workers the world has ever seen!
