Offered for sale here is the largest and most spectacular 'animal skin' marble that the prolific Mark Matthews creates, the Reticulated Giraffe. This is a somewhat early example of this marble, made in 2001. At over 5", it is one of the largest and heaviest marbles you'll ever hold in your hands, as very few glass artists in the world will attempt to make a sphere that is 5" or larger, as it is a phenomenal amount of hot, heavy work.

The bottom (Rear) of this sphere shows an earlier technique used to finish off the sphere. Very unique in that he no longer is finishing the larger Giraffes, or any other spheres, in this manner and shows the earlier technique and process of this revolutionary marble pioneer.
