Gerry Colman is another of the original old school marble pioneers. Gerry and his wife Pat did a ton of millifiori work, and eventually rolled that millie knowledge into marbles. He made various twisty marbles, and millie chaos marbles, but what he is most famous for is the millie cane marbles. Gerry was the first artist that I know of to combine cane together, then cut off a chunk of that cane and round it into a marble using a sphere grinder. The results are FANTASTIC! A couple others have come along later to incorporate this tech, but few take on the task because it is incredibly time consuming. But WOW, the way those layers in the millie canes are revealed is just way too cool. Gerry's marbles are an important part of the modern contemporary marble movement, and thus all serious collectors need some of his work in their collection! Gerry made and sold marbles for about 12 years or so, starting in 1995.
