Pileated Woodpecker

Calvert Cliffs SP, Calvert, MD

What, you don't like my new Doo??,

This Pileated Woodpecker flew into one of the many dead trees in the
beaver ponds while I was waiting for the eagles to return. The sun was droppping fast
and the backlighting was hard, but then I got this flash from his crown!

Nice capture of the male, Bryan! He sure seems to be having a bad hair day!

Neat capture. I have one that comes in to eat from my suet feeder. But have not been able to get shot of him yet this year. One movement and he is gone.
