Here too, even in rural areas. Put it in the woods for cover!

I don’t know anyone who has a real tree. In the heat they lasted a day.

a forlorn sight that's the disposable world we live in..

A wasteful practice. That's why we became pagans and dug a fire pit in the backyard so we can jump over it during the Winter Solstice. Just kidding, maybe next year. :)

We use them to fortify our beaches.
Starting the day after Christmas, several county offices will begin collecting discarded trees to build up dunes along the beach.
The trees are prime for capturing sand blown in by the wind, creating stronger dunes that protect the land from storm surges,
something we need before the next hurricane season.

Real trees are such as waste of resources. Hope its left here for proper re-cycling.

Such a waste

I always find it sad to see this. Makes me think of Joni Mitchell's "River" where she talks about it 'coming on christmas, they're cutting down trees..." and then the trees which have taken so long to reach this height, get thrown out. I don't have a christmas tree, I use my indoor bamboo instead!
