WC Fields' comedy short from 1933: "Mr. Snavely, a Yukon prospector, lost his only son years ago to the temptations of the big city; now the prodigal Chester, released from prison, comes home to Ma and Pa. A parody of Yukon melodrama; includes the famous looking-out-the-door routine" (IMDB)
I must admit to not being a huge fan of WC Fields - Laurel & Hardy were much more up our street so my exposure to Fields is limited. I do however remember as a young thing, being scared witless by this film. Not that I remember the film itself but more because of the title - my dad liked the occasion glass of beer (he was more a whisky man) and I was worried that something bad might happen to him if he drank it!! Luckily nothing did, but it didn't stop me eyeing this film with suspicion...
This taken at one of the refreshment stops on our long walk yesterday, the Churchill Arms in Paxford if memory serves - the EXIF will tell the eagle-eyed amongst you that we must have been banging on the doors right on opening time LOL!!
Also, there's a pretty cool optical illusion I didn't spot when I took this - the front glass is a half-pint, the back one its taller one pint brother...reminds me of that Father Ted episode :o))
See what other Pbasers are doing in the back row this month here
It's funny what can scare you as a child. I would never sleep next to an outside wall once I saw a movie which showed a lady in a bed being pulled out through the wall while she was asleep
You drank your beer fast!!
