29th - Kissing Gate

near Dorridge, West Midlands view map

Kissing gates used to be constructed from wood but like most things now days, have been replaced by more long-lasting and robust, but clinical and characterless, metal affairs...don't think I'd want to snog anyone here!

what a great find and title, I can imagine that a wooden fence feels more cosy!

Never heard them called that. Makes sense.

NO, I wouldn't want to 'snog' here either - like being in a cage at the zoo!!!

Cute name for the gate :)

Cold and clinical is a good description of the new gate. Sigh...

Thanks for the wikipedia link, but now it's spoiled my image of couples meeting at this gate. Wood does have more soul... at least it has been alive 8-)

I don't think I'd want to be kissed there but it is an interesting gate. LOL at Phillip!

Give me the old wooden ones anytime! This has no soul! But a great shot nonetheless! V

I have never liked these gates wood or metal, always a problem when you have a ruck sack and a large belly!

No tongues please!

I hate these ones, that horrible metal clang they make as they swing closed really breaks the country side code in my opinion. LOL at Phil, whats he been drinking ;-)

I suppose it's a bit more edgy and kinky... for your S&M crowd :o)

Well it's not very romantic but I guess it does the job! Lovely processing.
