Well, obviously doorsteps with cheese and pickled sardines would be hideous. ;-) We don't eat them here since they're bolted to the floor to stop the door from crashing into the wall. ;-)

Looks like a boxing glove to me....doorstep...you mean the heal of the loaf? I'm learning here....and pickle sarnies? Hmmm....All I need is some butter, honey and heated up and I would be in hog heaven! Yummy!
