29th - "Oranges Are Not The Only Fruit"

Cheltenham, Glos.

(A tale of love and spirituality)

I think I've become a tad healthier as I've got older - I gave up smoking over seventeen years ago, I'm moderate (cough!) in my alcohol consumption (ahem!) and I enjoy the odd bowl of fruit more than chocloate or cake...weird, I know!

Right...pasta on the boil - check! Sauce ready to be heated up - check! Photo duplicated in CS3 - check! Cross-process effect completed in Curves - check! Image cropped to get rid of the empty stalk the photographer created when he ate some of the subject - check! Resized for the web - check!!!

I love the glowing light. Your title reminds me of somethin I wrote - for what it is worth! :)

"We often use the expression "That's apples and oranges!". We do so disparagingly, when someone argues that two thing are the same, which we believe are different. Sometimes, we thoughtlessly apply this thinking to reject people who are in some way different from ourselves. They may be a different race, sex, age, or have a different sexual orientation, social status or religion-whatever! But apples and oranges have much in common. They both are fruit, grow on trees, have seeds, taste good and provide nourishment. They are also different from each other, but aren't we all better off that our world has both apples AND oranges.

you know your books Doug, but this one "Oranges are not the only fruit" is a novel from Jeanette Winterson, 1985,
aired by the BBC in 1990. you haven't read it probably.
I understood it is now popular in schools as part of the reading list.

Outstanding on shape, color, and composition!

Nice green feel to this. I'm partial to the odd bit of fruit myself, but get things in perspective. All the time you're eating fruit, you could have been eating chocolate. And most fruit is better when its been fermented anyway.
Nice shot by the way. ;-)

Ugh - this is the weekend, that's no place for health-fud. Get 'em fermented at once! :o)
