Texas Trans Pecos_September 2019

Chase to see the adult Long-tailed Jaeger at Balmorhea Lake in Reeves County from September 7-8, 2019. This was the 28th record for Texas but one of the few of an adult in alternate plumage. We were successful in seeing the Long-tailed Jaeger and while we were out there we had gotten permission to go into the Davis Mountains Resort in Jeff Davis County to try and see the White-eared and Rivoli's Hummingbirds that were visiting feeders in the resort. We managed to see the Rivoli's but unfortunately dipped on the White-eared. Other highlights from the trip were Mexican Duck and Townsends Warblers in Jeff Davis County.
