Built in 1924 and used for services only until the late 1940s, this orthodox synagogue sustained serious structural damage as a result of an earthquake in 1977. Since then it has been inaccessible to the public. It is located centrally within the old city walls in a quiet, rear courtyard. The faƧade, covered in a mural of brightly coloured tiles, is unique among the synagogues in the area.
