Merry Christmas! It was another successful and busy day at the Flying Samaritans El Hongo Clinic. We caravanned as usual but with 14 cars. A crash on the 94 almost caused us some serious delays but we were able to get around the accident and proceed on our way. We had a great turnout of providers, volunteers and patients. We welcomed Janessa, Blanca, and Gianna back from their medical studies and it was great to see them. We treated a lot of patients and provided a lot of food, clothing donations and toys for the families. Thank you to all that were involved in collecting and donating these items! A big thanks to all of the Flying Sams student leaders as well...I'm amazed at what you guys can do. The trip back was a little slow and some of the caravan missed a turn but Alfredo handled the situation well and within 15 minutes we were all back together again and sitting in a 2.5 hour border wait with NO CHURROS. Boo! We made it back to MacDonald's at around 10PM and some of the group went to In n' Out which was great. Well, this happened to be my 50th trip to El Hongo, and I'm ready for 50 more. It's been a life changing experience and I want to thank Josel Dauz for begging me to come, and to all the student and providers that work to keep this clinic an amazing place for the people of El Hongo!
