The information board in Czech and English explains the geological history
of the Prachovské skály (Prachov Rocks). It describes the formation of the
sandstone landscape through sedimentation in a shallow Cretaceous sea and
the subsequent geological processes. The area was once under a shallow
Cretaceous sea.The rocks were formed from sediments deposited there.
Geological activity, such as the Hercynian Orogeny, contributed to
the current structure.Fossils of plants, such as Calamites, have been
found in the area.
