The image shows a niche with a statue of a beguine, located in
the Great Beguinage in Leuven, Belgium. The Great Beguinage is a
historically preserved neighborhood dating back to the early 13th century.
Originally, it was a community for lay religious women, beguines,
who lived together without taking perpetual vows. Today, it is a
residential area for students, professors, and staff of the Catholic
University of Leuven. The site has been on the UNESCO World
Heritage List since 1998.
