A multicolored wooden sculpture depicting Jesus Christ seated with
his hands bound, known as "Christ at Rest" or "Christ on the Cold Stone."
The sculpture shows considerable wear, with large sections of the paint
peeling off, exposing the underlying wood. The figure wears a crown of thorns
and has a beard and long, wavy hair. The hands are bound together at the
waist with a thick rope.This type of depiction is common in Christian art
and symbolizes the suffering of Christ during his Passion,
often placed before the Crucifixion.
