The image shows the interior, specifically the high altar, of the
Church of Saint James the Greater (Kostel sv. Jakuba) in Jičín,
Czech Republic. The Roman Catholic parish church was built
after 1627 in the Baroque style. It is a landmark on Wallenstein
Square and is connected to the adjacent Wallenstein castle by a
covered gallery. The original plan included four towers and a
central dome, which were never finished due to the death of
Albrecht von Wallenstein. A fresco by Josef Kramolín creates
the illusion of a dome where one was intended.
