This is a remarkable Art Nouveau portal, characterized by its graceful, organic lines and
sculptural details. The style, also known as Jugendstil, flourished between 1890 and 1914
and was a reaction against earlier, more traditional styles. Notable features include the
asymmetrical composition and the flowing, natural motifs, such as stylized plants, flowers,
and female figures. The facade is decorated with two large, nude female statues standing
on pedestals and holding draperies, with an eagle or owl motif above the door. The door
itself combines various materials, including wood and metal, typical of Art Nouveau
architecture.
