This is a statue of Saint Therese of Lisieux, also known as "the little flower."
She was a French Carmelite nun who lived in the 19th century. She is best known for her
"little way" of spirituality, which centers on simplicity and trust. Her feast day is
celebrated annually on October 1st. Lisieux, the place where she lived,
is the second most important pilgrimage site in France
