This is a silver reliquary bust of an unknown saint, Such religious statues, known as "santo"
in Spanish tradition, are usually made of wood or sometimes ivory, and may be adorned with
textiles. A sculpture of Saint Ferdinand from circa 1730 is on display at the Denver Art Museum.
Saint Ferdinand was canonized by the Catholic Church in 1671 for his efforts to reconquer much
of Spain for Christianity.
