After only a few modifications the big Gixxer had 179 HP and I was very happy. This is the most powerful bike I ever had and it burned all others and still is able to smoke the newest 1000cc bikes. The Gixxer has enormous low down grunt and pushes forward when the needle passes 3500. A 2011 BMW 1000 RR (203 HP!) can not keep up. Well it can but very late. We tried a 2006 Gixxer against a 2011 BMW RR which had Dyno proved 203 HP. Both bikes rolled in 2nd gear about 40mph and then the throttle went open. The Gixxer was way quicker out of sight and the BMW was behind till about 200kph (125mph) and at 254kph (158mph) could get 10 feet ahead. Not bad for a 5 year old SS bike. The new bikes get their power advantage due to higher revs, meaning that they get weaker low down. The Gixxer is till 9000 rpm stronger than most 1000cc bikes including newest BMW RR and the K9 Gixxer and Kawa ZXR 2010. I loved it!
