Rod sums it up well, Nancy. Your image is about changing one thing into another and creating symbolic meaning in the process. You ask your viewers to become a spiritual force, leaving the reality of life (bare, dead branches) for another, more spiritual world that floats in the darkness beyond.

Thanks Jim, Rajan, Chris & Zeev ... As Chris guessed, it is, indeed, "a branch over water" ... and it was from the very bright and beautiful New Year's Day we had here in Tennessee. I shot down into the water focusing on a beautiful slab of rock. When I looked at the image later, I was inspired to abstract it. The reflections on the water combined with the abstracted stone transformed into something more nebula-like. I then rotated the image to place the "nebula" into the "sky."

A nice, abstract image. Just looking at it keeps you occupied and entertained while you ponder the exact combination of elements (Is it a tree branch over water?).
