Arrived at the Observation Pond early in the morning while the fog was hanging over low over the fields and water. As the day progressed, more and more migratory birds started flying into the feed area. In the early afternoon, the North Alabama Search Dog Association held a "Lost in the Woods" seminar for the public. They demonstrated how their dogs find people (alive or expired) and gave the youngsters tips on how to be found if lost from their parents or friends. A beautiful day with mountain bi-cycle-list roaming the backroads of the Refuge and the Agri-business folks hurriedly harvesting their soybeans before the upcoming coldfront and rain arrive this coming week. All in all a wonderous time at Wheeler Wildlife Refuge.
