Today was a good day for visitors and the wildlife residing within this area. The public attended a Snake and Reptile program at the Refuge's Visitor Center (these type programs are free to the public). The program centered around educating the positive effects of these "critters" have on our environment as well as the do's and don't's of living around such species. The public was invited to visit those reptiles who were temporarily detained to be a part of the program. (Please note no vipers or poisonous snakes are ever used in these programs.)

After the educational program, we visited the Observation Building (Please note the observation pond is about sucked dry in anticipation for the upcoming rains for the Fall return of the ducks, geese, and cranes.) then a couple of hours of a walk-about along the trails and servicee roads near the Visitors Center to search for those little "treasures" of nature.
