Today the clouds hung low in the sky giving a dull light as if after a rainy day in the late Fall. The Egrets were active and that was about all. At the Visitor Center the Alabama 4-H Center's Coosa River Science Center (www.coosariverscienceschool.org) conducted two sessions for the young people about the science of Herpetology and the importance of understanding the relation of those creatures and the enrichment of life in our State. The CRSS teaches at their home base as well visiting educational institutions through out our state. (Please note that all snakes brought and caught for the session were non-venomous. After the presentations the children and parents were allowed to touch and learn first hand about these environmentally friendly critters.
