Today we celebrated our Volunteers who do so very much for WNWR during the year. These dedicated people "man" the Visito Center, perform work on the grounds and in the field, as well as using their expertise in specific areas for the welfare of the wildlife. To honor these volunteers, the Refuge had a shrimp boil with all the trimmings. This annual event is well worth the variety of hours used to supplement the lack of government funding during these "lean" times in Congressional appropriations.
