Today besides a walk-about to see what creatures are stirring, the WNWR conducted the annual Junior Duck Stamp art contest for the young people in our State from Seniors in High School to All Elementary grades. This year there were over 300 entries of all manner of water fowl. Entry for this annual contest is free and information can be gotten about it from the Fish & Wildlife web site for each state. The winner from each State will have their art work submitted to Washington for competing against the other States. The Winner will then receive scholarship assistance and the art work will be used for the upcoming years duck stamp that hunters purchase. The attached gallery documents the range of art work submissions from various class ages and the judges who donated their time in this conservation effort and teaching about the importance of water fowl.
