To day the State of Alabama Conservation Department help their annual Duck Stamp Contest at Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge's Visitor Center. This year, rather than in Montgomery, this public contest of paintings and drawings of "ducks". There were 9 art works submitted for this contest and the judging was conducted by 3 individuals ( an art instructor, a biologist, and a field person with experience with water fowl refuges and that professional career.) While the turn out was light for a public event, the results will assist the funding of wildlife and conservation ventures within the State of Alabama.
