Well, Spring has sprung in a cold manner. The Refuge's "smoker jumping fire fighters" have taken their annual physical requirement of a timed 2 mile forced hike with each carrying 25lb. pack; the
the service roads are getting a trim and back into shape after being closed for the Fall and Winter. The Sandhill Cranes are circling awaiting a thermal to carry them back to the Great Lakes area and the photos here will most likely be the last for this season with any large numbers present. Now if we could just get the "weatherperson" to give a warmer forecast......hmmmm wonder if Al Gore still thinks we have global warming with all that snow up North and freezing temps 40 degrees cooler than normal here? Oh well at least the wildlife are happy and I for being able to observe them.
