Today the Wheeler Wildlife Refuge Assocation (aka Friends of Wheeler Refuge) held the annual meeting for the members. During the day the members were treated to a tour of the closed area of the Refuge, where the waterfowl & wildlife shelter in safety, and a dinner after the short business meeting. (A Day well worth the twenty dollar annual membership fee.)

On the tour the members rode a small bus that made frequent stops to observe the wildlife. Spotted during the tour were several Bald Eagles, Peregrine Falcons, Redtails, Harriers, King Fishers, Rindneck ducks, Mallards, Pintails, Buffleheads, Goldeneyes, Grrenwing Teals, Wigeons, Woodducks, Hooded Mergansers, Black Ducks, about 600 Snow Geese, Canda Geese, and several thousand Sanhill Cranes....and assorted songbirds. Alll in all a great treat for a "Birder" membhers and those people who enjoy observing all widlife.
