After several days of continous rain and then several inches of snow and ice the sun has appeared once again. With that fact, the sun found the Refuge in flood stage in many areas. The Visitor Centers trails are closed, the observation building closed, and the photo blind is flooded too. And, yet from many of the high ground spots open to the public (accessed with a little walking) thousands of water fowl, water birds, and wildlife can be viewed from a moderate distance.

Hopefully, in four or six days the waters will receed and the normal viewing areas can be opened to the public for their access. Until then here is a sampling of what was happening in the Refuge among the wildlife in those areas.
