On June 25th, 2007, my son and his son and I went out looking for Ospreys. While searching the islands North of Gville we spotted an Osprey with a branch heading to some nesting location. In a bit, I spotted an Osprey atop this abandoned duck blind..... but it was some 300 yards to far to approach due to the thickness of the millfoil and a hydrolic problem so my son got one good shot of the bird sitting quietly in this large nest built on the old duck blind. A couple of days later, I explored a means to boat into the old blind. After a while no Ospreys came near the nest...sooooo...maybe this little ole Osprey has built a great nest monument of his desire to mate.....only time will tell as I revisit this location in the future. But so goes the cycle of life in the area of Buck Island.
